ITA  -  Questo progetto ha ridato vita a un edificio del 1936 nel cuore storico di Trieste. Nata con due piani e sopraelevata nel 1962, la palazzina era originariamente suddivisa in sette appartamenti, tutti affacciati su un caratteristico cortile triangolare al piano terra, con balconi sul fronte strada e logge sul retro. Un corpo scala centrale ne scandiva la distribuzione interna. L'intervento ha rivoluzionato gli spazi, destinando l'intera struttura a una comunità socio-educativa per minori. Al piano terra ora si trovano una spaziosa cucina e una sala mensa, mentre i piani superiori accolgono camere da letto, servizi igienici, uffici per gli educatori, sale multifunzionali e una pratica lavanderia comune. Per rendere gli ambienti di condivisione e comunitari più vivaci, abbiamo aggiunto un tocco di rosso mattone che ne accende l’atmosfera. Anche l'esterno ha avuto un completo rinnovamento: le facciate sono state ritinteggiate e riqualificate, con la sostituzione di tutti gli infissi. Un'attenzione particolare è stata data agli impianti tecnologici, completamente rifatti per ottimizzare l'efficienza energetica. Una scelta fondamentale in questa direzione è l'integrazione di fonti di energia rinnovabile: un impianto solare fotovoltaico in copertura ora provvede a integrare i fabbisogni elettrici e termici dell’edificio.

ENG  - This project has breathed new life into a 1936 building in the historic heart of Trieste. Originally a two-story building with an additional floor in 1962, it was originally divided into seven apartments, all overlooking a distinctive triangular courtyard on the ground floor, with balconies facing the street and loggias at the rear. A central staircase articulated the internal layout. The project revolutionized the spaces, dedicating the entire structure to a socio-educational community for minors. The ground floor now houses a spacious kitchen and dining room, while the upper floors accommodate bedrooms, restrooms, educators' offices, multipurpose rooms, and a convenient shared laundry room. To make the shared and community spaces more vibrant, we added a touch of brick red that brightens the atmosphere. The exterior has also undergone a complete renovation: the facades have been repainted and upgraded, with all the fixtures replaced. Particular attention has been paid to the technological systems, which have been completely overhauled to optimize energy efficiency. A key choice in this direction is the integration of renewable energy sources: a photovoltaic solar system on the roof now supplements the building's electrical and thermal needs.
